If you are eligible to participate in the Fridays program, you will have the option to schedule a prescription fill with a video visit or, depending on the state, schedule a prescription fill without a video visit.
Once you select your prescription fill type, you will be asked to sign up for one of our monthly subscription services. Once paid, you will be prompted to create a password for your account. Note: your username is the email address you signed up with. You’re almost done! The last step after creating your password is to complete your initial health history intake form—this can be accessed by selecting “Next” after creating your password. You will also receive an email if you haven’t completed your health history intake form and can complete it by logging into the portal: app.joinfridays.com. Please be sure to complete this at your earliest convenience to avoid any delays in your treatment plan.
During your first appointment, your provider will discuss your health goals, review your medical history, order any necessary lab tests, and may order a prescription medication if deemed appropriate. Your provider will collaborate with you to create a personalized health plan. Alongside lifestyle recommendations, your care plan may include a prescription for weight loss medication.
Upon starting a weight loss medication, regular check-ins with your provider can be scheduled. The frequency of these visits can vary, but usually are once a month in the beginning. During these check-ins, the provider will evaluate your progress in weight loss, monitor your medication tolerance, arrange follow-up lab tests or prescription refills, and adjust your care plan as necessary.
While prescriptions for weight loss medication cannot be guaranteed for every patient, if you are 18 years of age or older and meet specific criteria such as weight and certain associated health conditions, your healthcare provider may consider you eligible for a prescription. Generally speaking, those who qualify are: individuals with overweight (BMI > 27) or obesity (BMI > 30) and those who are seeking maintenance therapy that have a BMI > 22 and if their current BMI < 27, have a history of obesity or overweight and have previously been on a GLP-1 within the past 12 months.
At this time, patients have to be at least 18 years old to participate in the program.
Fridays offers two subscription types, all of which include comprehensive coaching and services with no hidden fees, membership costs, or lab charges. Each plan provides regular virtual consultations with a clinician, prescription management and renewals (if applicable), support with insurance coverage for medications, and access to 1:1 nutritionist coaching, ongoing chat support, and health guides.
Subscription charges may appear on your credit card as “OPNLP FRIDAYS.”
Brand name medication pricing is based on insurance coverage.
Your clinical care team will work with you to identify the most affordable and suitable medication based on your health requirements and insurance coverage. GLP-1 prescriptions are usually more cost-effective when covered by insurance, but the exact expense will depend on your insurance plan. If you are uninsured, underinsured, or if the medication is not covered by your insurance, your provider may assist you in finding a prescription discount card or an alternative medication that is more cost effective.
Compounded GLP-1 is available for $249/month (all doses) on month-to-month plans and $699 for a three month plan. Compounded GLP-1/GIP is available for $359/month (all doses) on month-to-month plans and $999 for a three month plan. The prices for compounded medications are all-inclusive, with no additional fees.
Please note that Fridays does not directly sell GLP-1’s or other medications, and you can fill your prescriptions at the pharmacy of your choice.
If your BMI drops below 27, it is possible that you may no longer require GLP-1 medications, and your insurance may no longer cover the cost of the medication. In this situation, your healthcare provider will reassess your eligibility to determine if you can continue with the program. There are patients that may require maintenance therapy even if their BMI drops below 27 and your healthcare provider will determine if this option is right for you.
At present, insurance coverage does not include virtual visits for our program.
Certainly! We offer maintenance therapy for patients in most cases, however, the only patients that don’t qualify for maintenance therapy are patients with a BMI < 22 and this is mainly because we’re a virtual platform and for this patient population it’s safer to provide maintenance therapy if they’re managed at a physical clinic. In order to qualify for maintenance therapy, a patient needs to have a previous diagnosis of obesity (BMI > 30) or overweight (BMI > 27) and have been on a GLP-1 medication within the past 12 months. You may take our quiz to see if you qualify for maintenance therapy!

Integrated Pharmacist
Ruby has always walked the line between food and science. Her mother was a psychiatric nurse, wonderful cook, and exceptional gardener. Holistic care was something she learned from her parents very early. At the University of Waterloo, School of Pharmacy Ruby interned in several community pharmacies and research labs, co-authoring 2 peer-reviewed journal articles. Her independent studies, however, were focused on nutraceuticals and functional foods.
Doctor of Pharmacy
Brandi has always been fascinated by the practice of pharmacy. As a child, her brother and her would visit a locally owned pharmacy with a soda shop. “I would see the pharmacists walking around in their white coats being so friendly and helpful to the customers. I believe that was when I first decided to become a pharmacist.”
With that idea in mind, she began my undergraduate career at the University of Tennessee. Brandi found an opportunity at a locally-owned pharmacy close to home and worked there as a pharmacy technician for the last 2 years of my undergraduate studies. Falling in love with the small town feel of working at a independent community pharmacy, she entered a pharmacy program with goal of becoming a small town community pharmacist.
